
Senator Johnson’s Legislative Intern this year is Luke Gustafson. Luke recently graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Global Studies. While at UT, Luke was involved in Student Government, serving on the SGA Executive Committee and as the Election Commissioner. He also was President of the Interfraternity Council and an active member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Prior to working at the State Capitol, Luke has interned for U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist as well as Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale. During the 2004 election season he volunteered with the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign and in 2006 helped with Bob Corker’s U.S. Senate campaign. Luke hopes to go to graduate school to study campaign management and may look toward law school in the future. He is originally from Hendersonville, Tennessee.
